Winter Shoes

“As she walks through the coffee shop…”

An old pair of shoes on
A cold, frost-bitten
Day. Lop-sided, broken…

The dry heel leans
To one side. As

The pale, pink toes
Seem to poke out and
Hint at, what I think,
Must be a strange world
Lurking, somewhere,
Below.

The dry heel
Leans to
One side. Hiding.

Hiding?

This is very intriguing…love the toe peeking out, love the “hiding?”

Hmmm, I do like the mystery in this. And I wonder who or what is hiding, or is anyone at all?

They say to know someone you must walk in their shoes even if lopsided. A bit of mystery here and I wonder where those shoes have been hiding.

Hiding in plain view – shoes tell a story and that broken heel and flimsy cold weather shoe speaks volumes..so much in this piece – the true story truly is between the lines of what we are shown

So much conveyed by one detail! And then that final question reminds us that so much more is still unknown.
