    “Gone are days of quiet
Loss” — this brings a spill of tears, of mourning for a world more simple.
    Well done.

This was a subtly and beautifully done elegy Matthew. These lines moved me:

    Dreams that lie
    Broken on cold, red
    Dance floors.

Gone are the days of quiet…indeed they do at too many times seem to have left us But I have hope for days of peace.

    This Carnage of thoughts and
    Madness without end

Was it all a misfortune to the being? One often gets into wraps with things adverse. Sad elegy without a doubt Mathew!

In the briefest of moments lives are altered. Now is all we’re given. Live for that moment! Well done, Doc.

Life can be snuffed out in the blink of an eye. Your poem is so strong, it hurts.

    “This Carnage of thoughts and
Madness without end.” I really like that line too. A very somber piece that is fitting for a senseless tragedy.
